Uses of verb to do

To do as a main verb

We use to do as a main verb to show an action.

e.g. I do my work on time.
       She does the dishes in the morning.

1. Present form - do, does

For example:  
  • I / You / We/ They/ Students  do homework daily.
  • He / She / It/ John does homework daily.

2. Past form - did

For example:  
  • I / You / We/ They/ Students  did homework yesterday.
  • He / She / It/ John did homework yesterday.

3. Past participle - done

For example:  
  • I / You / We/ They/ Students  have done homework.
  • He / She / It/ John has done homework daily

4. Present participle - doing

For example:  
  • I am doing homework.
  • You / We/ They/ Students  are doing homework.
  • He / She / It/ John is doing homework.
